Some sessions stay with you not because everything was perfectly planned, but because they almost didn’t happen that way.

For this Indian pre-wedding session at Palácio de Queluz, the forecast promised heavy rain. Instead, we had a calm, dry afternoon — the kind of unexpected luck that completely changes the energy of a shoot.

Queluz is one of those places that doesn’t need much explanation. The Rococo architecture, the soft pink and yellow tones, the gardens, the fountains — everything has a quiet sense of grandeur. Against that backdrop, the couple’s outfits brought colour, presence, and a beautiful contrast to the elegance of the palace.

We moved through the French-inspired gardens, the ornate fountains, and the palace grounds, allowing the session to feel relaxed rather than overly staged. Some images were more directed, others more spontaneous, but the idea was always the same: to create portraits that felt elegant, personal, and connected to the place.

Portugal has become an increasingly special destination for Indian weddings and pre-wedding sessions. Between its historic venues, Atlantic light, warm atmosphere, and proximity to places like Sintra and Lisbon, it offers a setting that feels both European and deeply romantic.

This session at Palácio de Queluz was a beautiful example of that balance — Indian heritage, Portuguese history, and a couple fully present in the moment.
