These were the photos that guaranteed me a place in the 5 finalists for Portuguese Photographer of the Year 2023. This was the first year I applied for the National Qualifications of APPImagem, an unusual event, of a pedagogical nature, in which photos are evaluated in printed format, live, in front of an audience. 5 of my photos managed to enter the honor collection and 3 achieved the mention of merit, in a total of 13 points, which left me truly surprised, specially since it was a last minute decision and without being able to use photos that have already been awarded by The FEP or WPC.
Couldn’t fail to thank @koylab, the best album printing company, without which I wouldn’t even have been able to apply. Love you guys.
To the @appimagem secretariat, a big thank you for all your patience on the eve of the deadline putting up with Miguel Ponte’s doubts 😅
And finally, my sincere congratulations to my friend @joaocarlosphoto, the man of ideas, who deservedly got the better of me and was elected Photographer of the Year in the final vote.
